Where safety meets innovation

In June 2022, AMPC will deliver its first WHS Conference, where red meat processors will be exposed to new safety innovation ideas and technologies from leading manufacturing providers and industries in Australia.


The two-day conference will include a program of presentations from AMPC staff on the latest in WHS research and development, demonstrations from research and development providers, insights from other manufacturing industries on innovative WHS practices and procedures, and roundtable discussions with AMPC to shape future investment. 

The WHS Conference will be a live event, following COVID – safe guidelines, held at the Pullman King George Square in Brisbane, Queensland.

Safety Awards  

The AMPC Safety Awards will recognise leading edge safety programs or product development across the red meat processing industry. The Award categories will encourage members, provides and other stakeholder the opportunity to showcase their safety initiatives.  

AMPC member categories

  • Best Safety Cultural Initiative - An initiative that has been implemented into a business or business unit that has improved the safety culture of the operation  
  • Best Implementation or Integration of a Safety Device – An initiative that has been implemented into a business or business unit that has seen improvements in the safety due to the device being implemented 
  • Best In-house Safety Design- A safety device that has been designed or re-engineered and installed in house that has improved the safety outcomes of the business 
  • Safety Champion – This award recognises an individual’s dedication and outstanding contribution to health and safety at a processing plant. It is designed to inspire and maintain best practice in health and safety by an employee, supervisor, or manager 
  • People’s Choice Award - An opportunity for those attending the WHS Conference to cast a vote on all the award nominations and vote on the award nomination that improves safety across the industry and within organisations. 
     


AMPC non-member category

  • Best New Safety Product and/or Service - Open to any organisation involved in red meat that has a safety initiative to improve safety in the industry. It provides an opportunity for retailers, providers, RTO’s, and equipment providers to showcase safety improvements.

Accommodation

Accommodation for WHS Conference delegates is available at the Pullman King George Square and Mercure King George Square. 

Pullman room rate: $310 per night, with breakfast included. King and twin rooms available.

Mercure room rate: $250 per night, with breakfast included. Queen and twin rooms available.
