30 November 2022
Focus area: Digitisation
Program stream: Advanced manufacturing
Project number: 2021-1269
AMPC worked with Virtual Method (VM) to demonstrate the benefits of digital twin technologies for Australian red meat processing plants. VM scanned the boning room and offal room of a Victorian red meat processing plant and uploaded the footage to a virtual cloud where it was combined with interaction and avatar systems.

VM used the footage to create an immersive, 3D modelled real-time virtual reality experience that including hi-fidelity 360-degree videos.

This digital twin technology could be used by processing plants for maintenance, engineering, production analysis, onboarding, and employee training. It allows users to immerse themselves in a production environment virtually without the need to physically access site.
