Collaborative robots evaluation and deployment strategy development – Stage 2

28 October 2022
Focus area: Hands-off processing
Program stream: Advanced manufacturing
Project number: 2021- 1243
AMPC partnered with TME to understand where collaborative robots may be deployed within the Australian red meat processing industry today and in the future.

TME investigated several use cases for collaborative robots including primal packing. Using 3D and 2D vision for primal identification in combination with AI technology, a collaborative robot system was installed under proof-of-concept trial conditions at a beef processing facility to demonstrate an operational system working along side humans performing the same packing task with no safety guarding required.
