AMPC webinar: Diverting plastic from landfill

AMPC webinar: Diverting plastic from landfill

AMPC has engaged Southern Cross University to examine the use and waste stream of single-use plastic

Australia’s 2025 National Packaging Targets will have major ramifications for most red meat processing plants. The targets aim to eliminate non-recoverable packaging waste. If a plant is required to comply with the targets by 2025 and doesn't, it may incur additional costs or penalties.

To help our members understand the nature and impact of these targets, AMPC has engaged Southern Cross University (SCU) to investigate the use and disposal of plastics by red-meat processing facilities.

Several member sessions are planned and your involvement will assist with relevant learnings, feedback, and waste options development across the red meat processing sector.

Sessions include:

10-15 minute confidential survey

The survey will capture initial baseline data across member facilities, determine if you would like to participate further, and ultimately help identify relevant waste-management options*. The survey link will be made available on Wednesday 27 April.

*Data collected will be de-identified, aggregated, and confidential.

1-hour webinar

The webinar will explain the 2025 National Packaging Targets, illustrate potential impacts on members, and allow for Q&A. The webinar will be on Thursday 4 May at 2.00 pm AEST. See the link to register below.

Expressions of Interest (EOI)

EOIs for member project participants will be sent out immediately following the webinar. EOIs will close on Wednesday 11 May.
