AMPC National Beef Carcase Competition

As part of Beef Week 2024 AMPC is the proud partner of the AMPC National Beef Carcase Competition. Beef producers from around Australia have a unique opportunity to benchmark their product on a national level by entering the competition.

The appraisal system used in the competition is specifically designed to meet both export and domestic market requirements and uses the latest technology available to the beef industry.

The AMPC National Beef Carcase Competition aims to give feedback to producers about compliance of beef carcases to market specifications, lean meat yield, and predicted eating quality of those carcases.

In recognition of the hard work each participating plant contributes to the success of the AMPC National Beef Carcase Competition, a new award category has been introduced. The ‘Most Successful Plant’ award will be awarded to the processing plant that achieves the highest score based on criteria such as total number of entries processed through the plant, pen scores and data submission.
