Renewable Energy Options for Off-Grid Red Meat Processing
The purpose of this report is to look at the economic and environmental benefits of renewable energy and storage systems that may be deployed in the meat processing industry, utilizing three desktop case studies as well as considering the regulatory hurdles that exist.
Looking at renewable energy technologies, with the exception of solar, bioenergy and wind, they are still in the early stages of the innovation curve and therefore would not be considered economic for commercial deployment. There has been much progress with battery storage over recent years
and this is starting to become a viable option for coupling with renewable energy systems.
