Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC)

AMPC works closely with the Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC), the advisory council to the processing industry, to ensure that gaps, needs and issues identified by processor members are considered and supported through appropriate research, development and extension activities

AMIC’s mission is to be universally recognised as the peak authority for all post-farm-gate meat industry matters whilst ensuring sectorial interests are not compromised, to be the first point of contact for governments and other industry stakeholders on post-farm-gate red meat industry issues and to provide value-adding services to AMIC members which assist them in operating their businesses profitably. To achieve this, AMIC's services include:

  • Managing issues impacting on members
  • Coordinating member input to policy development
  • Disseminating information
  • Assisting with implementation of quality systems
  • Industrial advocacy
  • Human Resource consultancy
  • Facilitating effective internal and external communication
  • Promoting effective external networks
  • Representing members at meetings, seminars, and other appropriate forums
